Fran Stetina:

 

In 1975 & 76 Fran Stetina studied Photography at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. Shortly thereafter he and fellow photographer Dave Orbock developed " Photo Treks "a weekend Photo Workshop teaching Portraits and Figure studies. They operated Photo Treks from 1977 until 1982. In 1986 Fran Produced Limited edition Book " A Portrait of Anna", the book contained 7 Poetic Essays, 7 poems and 89 Images. Also in 1986 Fran participated in the first of five photo trips to China. The last trip in 1992 was to attend the opening of a Stetina & Orbock joint Photo exhibition( 90 Images) at the Anhui, China Cultural Museum.

As a Maryland Artist he has participated in over 30 one man and group art Exhibitions. Beginning in 1990 he began participating in the International Panoramic Association conferences and workshops. These included photo trips to Yellowstone; Banff, Canada; Yosemite; Peresque, France,; Quebec, Canada; and Las Vegas, Nevada. During the last three years he has primarily concentrated on 360 degree Panoramic Images and has created three large portfolios, Chicago, Spain, and India. He has an extensive collection of Images from around the world including images from travels to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Australia, Fiji Island and the Philippines. He has an extensive collection of panoramic images of Hawaii, California and the Southwest. His images have been collected since 1979 when Merril Chase Galleries of Chicago purchased his first 50 Images.
